The world's largest anime merchandise store and a true mecca for anime fans is what you’ll find here at the Animate Ikebukuro Main Store. After a full overhaul in 2023 the store reopened with an even larger sales floor, complete with nine floors above ground and two basement levels. Take your pick and step inside to find hundreds of thousands of manga, character goods, and everything anime on the side.

As if the shopping’s not enough, there’s even a full menu of unique experiences. Make your way to the second basement level to find Animate Theater, home to stage performances, live reading shows, and exclusive live events to knock your socks off. The first floor is the place to find Animate Café Gratte Ikebukuro, a tasty stop for lattes and icing cookies topped with character prints for an extra special moment with your favorite characters. You can also try the 9th floor for regular programming including live shows and autograph sessions, so you can get up close and personal with your favorite creators.
