Lake Toyako Long Run Fireworks Display

The Lake Toyako Long Run Fireworks Display began in 1982 as a way to attract tourists back to the area after the 1977 eruption of Mount Usu. Held at Toyako Onsen, this spectacular event runs for six months each year, from late April to the end of October. Every night at 8:45pm, around 450 fireworks illuminate the sky for approximately 20 minutes, their vibrant, colorful reflections bounding over the lake’s surface in a mesmerizing display.

Catch the fireworks from anywhere along the lakeshore, or book a stay at Toyako Onsen for front-seat views from a room or the outdoor hot springs for an evening in style. For a more immersive view, taking a fireworks cruise is highly recommended, giving you a canopy of full wow factor from just above.
