A long-established bakery in Morioka City founded in 1948 by a founder said to have been a student of Kenji Miyazawa. Its signature item is the large, fluffy koppe-pan buns made with the same “sponge dough method,” in which the dough is fermented in two stages, unchanged since the shop first opened.

What draws visitors is the shop’s original sandwiches, with fillings freshly added by staff after each order is placed. There are always more than 50 fillings available, including seasonal options, from sweet choices like jam and chocolate to savory ones such as yakisoba, egg, and tuna.

You can choose from two ways of spreading the fillings: “Mix,” in which fillings such as “red bean paste + butter” or “jam + whipped cream” are spread on each cut side of the bun, or “Half-and-half,” which lets you enjoy two flavors in one bun. With these options, there are literally hundreds of combinations. Sweet fillings can be ordered both as Mix and Half-and-half, while savory fillings are available only as Mix. There is also a wide variety of toppings, such as ham and sliced cheese, so you can create an original sandwich to suit your taste.
