Unagi no Nedoko - Chiba

Unagi no Nedoko - Chiba is an eel specialty restaurant located about an eight-minute walk from JR Chiba Station. The restaurant is dedicated to high-quality, domestically sourced eel, carefully grilled over binchotan charcoal. Since opening in 2023, it has attracted not only locals but also food lovers from outside the prefecture.

Fresh eel is purchased from the market every morning and prepared only after an order is placed. The classic unaju features plump, tender eel glazed with a fragrant, savory-sweet sauce. Other highlights include shirayaki, which lets the natural flavor of the eel shine, grilled eel skewers that pair perfectly with drinks, and crispy eel bone crackers. The menu also offers a solid lineup of non-eel lunch options such as sashimi set meals, tempura set meals, and chicken nanban, making it appealing even to those not in the mood for eel.

The interior has the feel of a hidden retreat, with a total of 32 seats including counter seating, tatami seating, and private rooms. The restaurant can also be reserved for private parties of 30 or more guests. With course menus and a wide selection of fine sake from across Japan, it’s well suited for banquets, business dinners, and a variety of occasions.
