Supervised by :  IYOTETSU Group Co., Ltd.

This tram system operates mainly in central Matsuyama City in Ehime and is operated by IYOTETSU. Its predecessor began operations in 1888, and it has developed into one of Japan’s longest-running urban transportation systems. Today’s tram system is centered on Matsuyama City Station and consists of six routes. Multiple lines support travel around the city, including a loop line that circles major downtown areas and routes heading toward Dogo Onsen.
It is used not only for commuting to work and school, but also as an easy-to-use way for visitors to get around the city.

The fleet is diverse, including the Moha 50 series, known for its classic look, the Moha 2000 series, which has long served on city routes, and the Moha 5000 series, which features a low-floor design that makes boarding and alighting easier. Even as it modernizes, the system continues to value and preserve its historic cars, creating streetscapes unique to trams.

The sightseeing train Botchan train, modeled after a steam locomotive from the light railway era, also runs on designated sections. It is popular across generations as a way to enjoy Matsuyama’s retro scenery.
