He was born in 1972 in Tokyo. Formerly a certified dam-meister by the Japan Dam Foundation, he is the fifth head of the dam division of the long-established Japanese restaurant "Kappo Sansyu-ya." He has visited around 700 dams, mainly in the Kanto region, and his lifelong goal is to conquer all of Japan's approximately 2,700 dams.
In 2002, after launching the website "Dam Mania," he garnered attention from dam enthusiasts. He published the guidebook Dam Mania, which shares basic knowledge of dams and highlights points of interest through rich photography and text that appeals to dam enthusiasts.
In his main business, he serves "dam curry," a dish modeled after various dam designs. This unique dish attracts dam fans from across the country, and dam curry has been introduced as an regional economic development initiative in places like Minakami Town in Gunma Prefecture and Toyone Village in Aichi Prefecture. Through these ventures, he promotes dams and water sources from multiple angles, contributing to the understanding of dams and expanding the fanbase.
