Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa

An urban aquarium where sound, light, visuals, and sea creatures merge together. Relax and take in the sights at “Jellyfish Ramble,” a large area that is approximately 9 meters wide and 35 meters long where jellyfish drift along to sounds and lights.

The location is very convenient, and the lighting and music create a fantastic atmosphere.
The jellyfish area is especially beautiful.
Overall, it feels more like watching a show than a typical aquarium.
Great place to visit on a rainy day or in the evening, and it’s also awesome for taking photos.

Shiodome City Center

A 43-story mixed-use building located at the gateway to Shiodome Siosite, the redeveloped Shiodome district. It combines offices, shops, and dining facilities, and houses the headquarters and branch offices of many companies. It serves as a business hub for the Shiodome area.

The cluster of high-rises gives this area a really futuristic feel. There are also restaurants and cafes on the lower floors to check out, and at night the lighting creates a great atmosphere.
They often have exhibitions or events here too. Walking between the office buildings and shopping areas, you really get a sense of the city's rhythm. It's a great place for a stroll and some photos.

British Hills

Located 1,000 meters above sea level in the Hatoriko Highlands, British Hills is a sprawling complex that faithfully recreates the atmosphere of a medieval English town. Spread across 73,000 tsubo (about 240,000 m²), the grounds feature a grand manor house-modeled after the estates of medieval lords-alongside structures such as a recreated medieval castle block and guesthouses designed in the style of English cottages. From the buildings to the signboards and even the road signs, every detail has been crafted to replicate an authentic British townscape, offering visitors a deeply immersive experience of British culture.

The whole estate has a strong European vibe—even the street lamps, stone paths, and restaurants are super detailed. The atmosphere is amazing. You can try English afternoon tea, stay in a European-style cottage, and the staff wear British uniforms and greet you in English—it's totally immersive. It's a great place for photos and really fun, making for a relaxing and unique little getaway!

Kyoto’s Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine apportioned a deity here to Ukiha Inari Shrine, launching the founding in 1957 alongside enshrined deities Matsuo Taisha Shrine (Ooyamakui-no-Kami) and Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine (Sugawara no Michizane). The shrine is so beautiful! The red torii gates stretch out in a super impressive line, kind of like a mini version of Kyoto's Fushimi Inari. It's perfect for photos and the atmosphere is really peaceful. Whether you're here for a stroll or to make a wish, it's a really comfortable spot!

Former Foreign Settlement of Kobe

Kobe opened its port to the world in 1868 and became an important trade center for foreign countries. Under this circumstance, the Kobe Motomachi area was designated as a residential area for foreign traders. Massive neo-classical Western architecture from that time is well preserved, offering a western townscape in the middle of Japan.

It's similar to the old French Concession in Shanghai, where foreigners had extraterritorial rights. Many of the European-style layouts and Western buildings from that era are still preserved.

Hiroshima Castle

Hiroshima Castle was built in 1589 by Terumoto Mori, known as one of the five dignitaries of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The castle is located in the center of Hiroshima city, famous as a major tourist attraction with easy access.

The view of the surrounding area is just okay, since this part of the city is now the downtown area, so it's mostly tall buildings.

Atomic Bomb Dome (Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park)

The Atomic Bomb Dome, in its original design, was completed as the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotional Hall, by Czech architect Jan Letzel on April 5th, 1915. However, as it stood just 160 meters from the epicenter of the atomic bomb, it suffered severe damage from the blast. With a gutted steel frame and damaged exterior, its known colloquially as the Atomic Bomb Dome, a building that stands in testament to the tragic history unfolded here.

The Atomic Bomb Dome is one of the buildings that didn't collapse after the atomic bomb. It's now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and stands for the hope for peace. Visiting it left me feeling really shocked. 😟
