Takeshita Street in Harajuku is super lively.
Tons of trendy shops for young people, cute desserts, and quirky little items.
Perfect for taking photos, posting on social media, and just wandering around.
It does get really crowded, but if you’re into fashion trends and fun, wacky food, you’ll probably love it.

Fuji Grand Kitajima

A shopping center that opened in 2001. It is lined with businesses offering a range of services. It includes a supermarket, fashion and miscellaneous goods shops, specialist toy stores and popular fast food joints.

This is a small shopping center in a rural area. There aren't many trendy things to buy, and honestly, there's not much worth shopping for. Plus, it's almost empty most of the time.

Garage dining cafe “maimai”

Garage dining cafe, as the name suggests, is a cafe converted from an outdoor garage. At this cafe, you can have a local fish burger called "Naoshima Burger," which sandwiches fresh Hamachi (young yellowtail) with big fluffy buns. The house-made tartar sauce is an essential ingredient that makes this dish so delicious.

This burger spot is super popular on Naoshima, but honestly, I'm just not that into burgers.

Benesse House Museum Café

This café is located on the 2nd floor of the Benesse House Museum, a combination museum and hotel. Natural light shines through the wide open windows on the south and west sides, so you can relax and enjoy a light meal or a drink while looking out over the Seto Inland Sea.

Omoide Yokocho

Walk just 2 minutes from the West Exit of Shinjuku Station to find yourself at a retro pub alley. With ticket shops and around 80 different establishments offering delicious food and drinks, it's a great place to enjoy the local cuisine and atmosphere.

There are about 70 or 80 restaurants packed into this short street, but some of the facilities and decor are a bit old. The ventilation isn't great, and the hygiene could be a concern. 😓

Nijigen no Mori

Nijigen no Mori can be found in an all new type of themepark that combines cool Japan, technology and nature, located in Awajishima Prefectural Park on Awaji Island.
