Nobeyama Station
The JR Koumi Line extends for 78.9 kilometers from Kobuchizawa Station in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, to Komoro Station in Komoro City, Nagano Prefecture. Between the third station, Kiyosato, and the fourth station, Nobeyama, lies the highest point along any JR railway line in Japan, at an altitude of 1,375 meters. Remarkably, of Japan's ten highest JR stations, nine are located along this Koumi Line. Among these, Nobeyama Station is officially recognized as the highest JR station, situated at 1,345.67 meters above sea level.
The snowy scenery here is even more magical—it's just like a romantic scene straight out of a Japanese drama.
