Shirahama Ohama Beach

It totally feels like a dream beach! The sand is super white and really fine, so it’s super comfy to walk on. The water is such a clear, beautiful blue—every photo turns out amazing. It does get pretty crowded in the summer, but the vibe is lively and it really feels like a vacation spot. There are shops and restaurants right nearby, so you can grab something to eat when you’re tired from swimming—super convenient. Overall, it’s the perfect place to just relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy the ocean view. 🌊☀️

Known and loved as the “kingdom of dreams and magic”, this full-scale themepark is just a 15 min. train ride from Tokyo Station.

It’s not just about local specialty products—the dessert section is super tempting too. The fruit cake and cheese tarts are especially popular. The whole place is clean and spacious, and they also sell boxed meals and prepared foods, so grabbing something to eat is really easy. It’s the kind of place you definitely want to stop by when driving past, have a look around, and stock up a bit.

America-mura

In the 1970s, the area around Nishi-Shinsaibashi came to be known as "America-mura" because the warehouses were converted into stores that began selling used clothes, records, and miscellaneous goods that were imported from the west coast of the United States.

Even though it's a rest stop, there are so many shops and facilities besides just bathrooms. It's basically become a tourist spot.

Above the beautiful mountain village of Misatomachi sits a temple atop a mountain that towers 957 meters in the sky. Leading up to it is Japan’s tallest stone staircase, 3,333 stone steps that lead up the main promenade to the Shaka-in Temple at its summit.

I was really looking forward to coming here, but it was pretty different from what I imagined. A lot of the rides are poorly maintained and look old and worn out. Plus, the park is really small. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it.

Kappa Bridge

The Kappa Bridge used to be a wooden drawbridge overhanging both banks of the river. In 1910, it became a suspension bridge. The current bridge is the fifth generation of the suspension type, which was renovated in 1997. This beautiful larch tree bridge, 3.1m wide and 36.6m long, has long been a symbol of Kamikochi.

The view of Kamikochi from Kappa Bridge is just amazing! Blue skies, lush greenery, and crystal-clear water—it's all so beautiful. The environment is really well protected here. Even the public restrooms require a small cleaning fee, which goes toward keeping the place nice and clean.

Hitachi Seaside Park

Hitachi Seaside Park is a large park that spans an area of about 215 hectares. During springtime, daffodils, tulips, and nemophila bloom. In early summer, there are roses, and in summer, there are zinnias and sunflowers. Autumn brings forth kochia and cosmos. During winter ice tulips, plum blossoms, and other seasonal flowers bloom. In particular, the nemophilia that bloom from mid-April through early May are lauded for their gorgeous blue color, blending the sky, sea, and flowers together into a vast expanse of blue.

The location is a bit out of the way, but there are different flowers to see all year round. The park is huge, which makes it even more impressive. You can rent bikes here, and there's also a shuttle bus to get around.
