cafe SKY 40

A stunning-view cafe inside the Kuchu Teien Observatory at Umeda Sky Building, the only site in Japan selected for a UK publisher’s “Top 20 Buildings in the World.” More than the location, the menu stands out, especially the original coffee made with carefully selected beans.

The biggest selling point is the high-rise view. If you sit by the window, you can look out over the city.
The daytime view is pretty good, and it’s a big plus when the weather’s nice. It feels even better at night.
Great spot for chatting, a date, or just zoning out.

The coffee and desserts are pretty average—totally fine to drink and eat, but nothing that wowed me. The prices are a bit on the high side.

Sendai Asaichi Morning Market

“Sendai Asaichi" has the advantage of being extremely accessible, only a five-minute walk from Sendai Station. The market sells mainly fresh local Miyagi fresh food products. There are also many diners, allowing visitors to enjoy all the food Miyagi has to offer, from shopping to dining.

There are so many kinds of fruits and veggies here, and everything is sold at really low prices. You might even find some unexpected surprises.

The admission fee is quite reasonable and there are so many different kinds of animals. It's super convenient to get here by train.

National Museum of Japanese History

The National Museum of Japanese History is one of the largest national history museums in Japan, exhibiting all periods of Japanese history and culture. The museum opened in March 1983 in a corner of the Sakura Castle ruins in Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture. It is a temple of history with a grand total floor space of 38,000 square meters on a site of approximately 130,000 square meters.

Even though I don't know much about Japanese history, the exhibits made it easy to understand how Japanese life has changed and evolved over time.

Osu Kannon Temple

This temple is the branch headquarters of Shingon Sect, Chisan School, officially called “Kitanosan Shinpukuji Hoshoin Temple ”. It started in Hashima City, Gifu and moved to the current location by General Tokugawa Iyeyasu’s order. It is regarded as one of Japan’s Three Kannon Temples along with Asakusa Kannon in Tokyo and Tsu Kannon in Mie.

This is a historic Kannon temple in Nagoya. It's always lively and packed with visitors. Lots of people feed the pigeons in the plaza out front.

Nagoya‘s biggest arcade is surrounded by Wakamiya, Fushimi, Osu and Minami-Otsu Streets. Almost 1,200 stores and facilities in all kinds of genres are clustered - restaurants, second-hand, general, and appliance stores, etc. are creating a unique atmosphere.

There are so many food options here, especially international snacks with unique flavors. There are also second-hand clothing shops where you buy by weight. It's a great place to hunt for treasures.

Narusawa Hyoketsu Ice Cave　　　

Aokigahara Jukai (sea of trees) spreads out at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Narusawa Hyoketsu Ice Cave is located at the eastern entrance of that and is visited by many tourists throughout the year as one of the touring spots of Fuji Goko/Five Lakes. It is a cave created after lava flowed out from the eruption of Mt. Fuji lateral volcano Mt. Nagao in 864（the 6th year of Jogan era）, and is a lava cave with a total length of 153 m.

The ice inside the cave never melts, no matter the season. There's a big temperature difference between inside and outside. For safety, the staff provide helmets and rain boots. It's a pretty cool spot to visit in the summer.
