Numazu Port Restaurant District
You can find freshly landed seafood at this restaurant district at Numazu Port facing Suruga Bay, the deepest bay in Japan. “Numazu Minato Shinsenkan”, located at the entrance to the port, has many stores offering seafood and a wide variety of Shizuoka specialties such as local vegetables, wasabi, and tea.
All the freshly caught seafood is super fresh, and since it's right at the source, the prices are great for what you get.
Engetsu Island
A landmark of the Nanki-Shirahama area, familiar as the subject of paintings, photographs, and postage stamps. The official name is “Takashima” but it’s commonly called “Engetsu-jima” because of the sea cave (hole) near the center of the island.
A lot of foreign tourists try to take beautiful sunset photos here, but they don't seem to care about their own safety, which makes things pretty dangerous. The Japanese locals just shake their heads when they see it!
Nagoya City Science Museum
This science museum is located in the center of Nagoya city comprising 3 buildings, “Life Sciences building”, “Science and Technology building”, and “Astronomy building”.
There are tons of hands-on experiments and interactive exhibits, so you can really learn about science in a fun way. It's not boring at all! Not just for kids—middle schoolers and even adults can learn something new here.
Ueno Park
Ueno Park, officially known as "Ueno Onshi Park," is located in Taito Ward, Tokyo. Managed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Construction Bureau, the park spans an impressive area of 530,000 square meters and has a rich history.
The cherry blossoms are absolutely beautiful. This is the best spot for hanami!
Oigawa Railway
Steam locomotives (SLs) are primarily used for towing train cars. On the Oigawa Railway Ikawa Line, Japan’s one and only Abt train can still be found pulling trains up and down the area’s steep slopes. It is very popular not only among railroad fans but also among women and children.
Riding the retro steam train was such a cool experience! The wooden seats and old-school fans really add to the vibe. The scenery along the way is stunning, with endless nature and impressive valleys. There are also souvenir shops and bento boxes at the station.
