Isetan Shinjuku
The main branch “Shinjuku Isetan”, designated a historical landmark of Tokyo, is an old department store made up of several buildings, such as one mainly specializing in men’s items, and the Isetan Kaikan that mostly comprises restaurants and cafés.
It's a mid-to-high-end department store, but I wasn't too happy with the staff's attitude.
Shiraito Falls (Nagano Prefecture)
This is one of Karuizawa’s most popular tourist attractions, located along the “Shiraito Highland Way” driving route. It is a beautiful waterfall named after Mt. Asama’s snowmelt water, which gushes out from the rock and flows like thin threads. The water curtains flowing down are transparent, and the area is filled with fresh air.
The walk to the waterfall isn't difficult at all. It's a great place to soak up some negative ions and recharge.
Old Karuizawa Ginza Street
Millions love to visit this must-to-see shopping street in Karuizawa each year. Souvenir stores with local specialties and gourmet shops serving take-out meals and sweets cluster here. Not only the main street, but also the alleys have fun stores. Take time to explore them and find your treasure.
This is a summer getaway spot for people from Tokyo. The street is super clean, and the cool weather feels really comfortable.
Sagawa Art Museum
The logistics company, Sagawa Express Co.,Ltd. opened a private museum in 1998 to commemorate their 40th anniversary. The vast premises of almost 29,000㎡ is located before the scenic Lake Biwa with Hiei and Hira Mountains in a distance.
The way wind, water, and light interact with the architecture here is amazing. It's a place that makes you want to linger for a while.
