Hakone no Ichi
This souvenir store is located right next to the automatic ticket gate of Hakone-Yumoto Station on the Hakone Tozan Railway. They sell countless unique items from Hakone, starting from typical local souvenirs like onsen-manju (stuffed buns made in hot spring towns) and traditional marquetry craft works, as well as famous hotel food products like sweets and salad dressings.
The wild boar pork loin bento from the railway is really tasty.
Maruchan Red Kitsune Udon
This cup instant udon only needs hot water and a wait of 5 minutes to be ready to eat. Topped with slightly sweet deep-fried tofu, it's so popular in Japan that it's hard to find anyone who doesn't know about it.
The red Udon is my absolute favorite!
Maruchan Green Tanuki Tempura Soba
This cup-style instant soba can be enjoyed just by pouring boiling water and waiting for 3 minutes. Topped with aromatic small shrimp tempura, it's a very popular product.
You can find this at pretty much any convenience store or supermarket in Japan!
SPIRAL
Based on the theme of fusing life and art, the Spiral cultural commercial complex opened in 1985.
Also known as the Wacoal Art Center, it has a spiral-shaped atrium where they often hold exhibitions, mostly focused on contemporary art. I like to stop by whenever I have time.
