NyanNyan-Ji
Located in Kyoto’s Yase area, NyanNyan-Ji occupies a century-old traditional house renovated in the style of a temple. Known as a sacred place for cat lovers, its principal deity is Dainichi Nyarai, a beckoning-cat incarnation of the Buddha. The museum also enshrines Susanaru no Mikoto and Nekoterasu no Okami, creating a unique space where art and good fortune intersect.
The sign at the entrance that says 'Main Temple of the Lucky Cat Sect' instantly made me smile. It felt like I was being hugged by a cat.
