Gappo Park
Located 20 minutes by bus from JR Aomori Station and facing Aomori Port, Gappo Park is a seaside park in an urban area that is rare in Japan. Brothers Eisaku Mizuhara and Mijuro Kakizaki donated their materials to build the park, which was completed in 1894 (Meiji 27). It was donated to Aomori City.
Actually, there's a hidden cherry blossom spot right in Aomori City—Gappo Park. It's definitely one of the best places to enjoy the blossoms. Highly recommended!
Meiji Jingu Museum
The Meiji Jingu Museum, which stands quietly on the approach in the Meiji Jingu precinct, lined with giant trees, opened in 2019 as a memorial service for the 100th anniversary of Meiji Jingu establishment. The museum preserves and exhibits items related to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, the deities of Meiji Jingu Shrine.
Wow, the Meiji Jingu Museum was designed by the famous Japanese architect Kengo Kuma! The way the building blends with nature is really unique and special. 👍
Karuizawa Garden Farm, Strawberry Garden
The farm gives a sweeping view of Mt. Asama, famous for the strawberry picking available throughout the year. The Summer / Autumn Strawberry Picking is held from July to November, and The Premium Winter Strawberry Picking is held from late December to June.
Karuizawa... it was okay. You can pick and eat these huge strawberries as much as you want. 👍
