Sabo Hishii
The "Sabo Hishii" is a storehouse built and reconstructed as a pawnshop in 1905, and used as it is. The black plaster exterior walls that remained after passing through the Great Hakodate Fire of 1934 are a distinctive feature of the building. Many poets, waka poets, and literary giants loved this place, which was also the home of Setsuko, wife of Takuboku Ishikawa, who once lived in Hakodate.
The environment here is elegant, blending traditional and modern aesthetics. The tea is refined, the desserts are rich and delicious, and the service is warm and attentive. It's the perfect spot to unwind.
