The place has a bit of a retro Japanese feel, and it's really chill—no pressure at all. Great spot to relax and chat after a soak! Prices aren't too bad either, so the value is pretty good. If you're a beer lover or just want to try some local flavors, you should definitely grab a drink here.
Higo Yokamon Market
Opened in 2018, Higo Yokamon Market is a commercial facility located under the elevated tracks of JR Kumamoto Station, spanning 7,500 square meters and housing about 60 attractive stores.
There are so many local Kumamoto foods and unique products here—I wanted to take everything home! The vibe is fantastic and it really feels like Kumamoto. Loved it!
Hakata Daruma Main Store
Established in 1963, "Hakata Daruma Main Store" is a renowned Hakata ramen restaurant where the second-generation owner has inherited the traditional taste created by his father.
The tonkotsu broth is rich and silky, and the thin noodles are super springy. The chashu just melts in your mouth 😍😍. Everything is perfectly balanced—it's a flavor you won't forget!

Yamanohachimitsuya
A renowned honey specialty store located in Akita Prefecture, one of Japan's leading honey production areas. The shop, housed in a dome-shaped log cabin resembling a beehive, offers a wide variety of honey, including locally sourced horse chestnut and acacia honey from the Tazawako area, as well as lemon, coffee sunflower, and other honey varieties from both domestic and international sources. All products are available for tasting, so you can find your favorite flavor.
The honey here is all-natural, rich, and fragrant—top quality! There's a great variety of products, and I especially recommend the honey cake. The shop is cozy, the staff are friendly, and it's a must-visit local specialty store!
Kaike Onsen
Located along the coast of Yumigahama facing the Sea of Japan, Kaike Onsen is a seaside hot spring resort just about 15 minutes by car from central Yonago. The hot spring water, drawn from beneath Miho Bay, is a sodium-calcium chloride spring-commonly referred to as "salt water"-known for its high salinity and excellent heat retention. It's also celebrated as one of the San’in region’s top “beauty baths” for its skin-smoothing effects.
