Choshuya Kintaikyo
A popular restaurant just after crossing Kintaikyo Bridge toward Kikko Park. It’s known for kawara soba, a Yamaguchi local specialty served on a heated roof tile. Green tea soba topped with beef, shredded egg, lemon, and maple chili daikon is dipped in a flavorful sauce. The crispy, tile-seared noodles pair perfectly with the slightly sweet dipping sauce for an addictive bite.
They specialize in super home-style, local Japanese dishes. The udon, set meals, and rice bowls were all consistently solid.
The flavors aren’t too heavy—more light and refreshing, and easy to enjoy. Portions are just right: you won’t feel stuffed, but you won’t leave hungry either.
