Tottori–Matsue Pass

The Tottori and Shimane area harmoniously blends natural beauty with cultural heritage, featuring scenic coastlines, majestic mountains, and historic towns. The view from Fukuoka Tower is honestly stunning 😭. Take the elevator up and you get a full view of Fukuoka City. On a clear day, it’s absolutely beautiful! Great spot for photos, too.

The Abashiri City Tourist Association is super convenient. The staff are really friendly and they provide lots of helpful travel info. The rest area is comfy too—great place to take a break and plan your trip!

Yunohama Onsen

Former Japanese Navy Underground Headquarters

In 1944, during the final stages of the Pacific War, approximately 3,000 members of the Navy Construction Corps dug this underground command base. In 1945, during the Battle of Okinawa, the headquarters became the site of a tragic end for the naval forces on June 13, when they were surrounded by overwhelming U.S. forces. Today, the site has been developed into the Prefectural Navy Headquarters Park, promoting peace. About 300 meters of the 450-meter-long tunnels and rooms are open to the public.

The Former Japanese Navy Underground Headquarters is very well preserved, with a strong historical atmosphere. The guided tours are detailed and really let you experience the tense wartime environment. It's an important site for learning about modern Japanese history!
