    It’s right next to Hakodate Station, so the location is super convenient and you’ll almost definitely pass by it.
    There are ramen, seafood, desserts, and quite a good variety overall, so you don’t have to worry about what to eat.

    It’s docked by the harbor and really stands out. The exterior has a nice old-time feel.
    You can walk into the ship and explore the cabins, and it really does feel like you’re on board.
    The wheelhouse has all kinds of operating equipment, which is really cool if you’re interested in ships or navigation.

    The exterior really has that Hokkaido style, and it looks great in photos too. Simple, but distinctive.
    As soon as you step out of the station, you’re at the Hakodate Morning Market, so it’s super convenient for seafood. The location is definitely a big plus.

    The crabs all looked really impressive, but the prices were on the high side, so it’s best to compare prices before buying.
    The vendors were all quite friendly, and some even spoke Chinese, so ordering wasn’t too stressful.

    You’ll seriously question your life choices on the way up—there are so many stairs. But the sense of accomplishment when you finish feels amazing. Totally worth it!

    Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine isn’t very big, and you can probably see it in about 10 minutes. It feels more like a quick stop while you’re in the area.

    The atmosphere is great at night. The wooden cabins and lighting give it a really unique feel, and it feels very different from the daytime.
    I’d recommend coming after sunset.
