This place is huge! I spent the whole day walking around and my legs were so sore. I ended up buying a ton of stuff just at the supermarket alone.

Nora Dokei Clock
This clock tower was made in the mid-Meiji era, a time when clocks were not yet commonplace, by Genma Hatakenaka. He was a landowner who mastered the art of clock assembly, building it by hand from gears and weights. The clock was nationally registered as a tangible cultural property in 1996.
It's an old clock tower, but what's special is that it was handmade by a local farmer over a hundred years ago—so creative and impressive. It's not huge, but standing there watching it tick so precisely gives you a sense of traveling through time and really makes you appreciate the craftsmanship. It's a great spot for a quick visit and photo, and you can really feel the locals' care for their community.

Rakusuien
Nestled quietly in a corner of the office district near Hakata Station, this Japanese garden stands on the site of a villa built in 1906 by Shimozawa Zenemon Chikamasa, a Hakata merchant who contributed to the development of Fukuoka and Hakata. After serving as an inn post-war, the site was redeveloped into a garden by the city of Fukuoka in 1995.
This Japanese garden is a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city. The moment you step inside, everything quiets down and you instantly feel calm. There's a pond, stone lanterns, and little bridges—such a classic, elegant vibe. It's not huge, but it's really well-designed. Perfect for a slow stroll, relaxing, and enjoying a peaceful moment. Also great for photos!

Udon Honjin Yamadaya Sanuki Flagship Restaurant
The Udon Honjin Yamadaya Sanuki Flagship Restaurant, about 20 minutes on foot from the Kotoden Shido Line Yakuri Station, is even selected by a well-known gourmet website as a famous restaurant where one can enjoy authentic Sanuki udon.
The restaurant is a grand Edo-era mansion with a beautiful garden, making for a lovely dining atmosphere. The ingredients are fresh and tasty, prices are very reasonable, and even though it’s not the easiest place to get to, it’s definitely worth the trip.
