It's Sakura Season at Arakurayama Sengen Park in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture!
All over Japan, Sakura (cherry blossoms) are reaching full bloom earlier than usual this year.
Today, I'd like to introduce the Sakura at Arakurayama Sengen Park (nicknamed the Memorial Tower). It's located at the foot of Mount Fuji in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture.
These photos were taken on April 6, 2018.
From here, walk up the 398 steps of the Sakuya Hime Kaidan, a stairway under the cherry blossoms! Wheelchair users may drive up only during the Sakura viewing season.
The View from the Observation Deck
After walking about 10 minutes, you reach the peak!
The stunning beauty of this scenery will blow away any fatigue!
A photo of this scenery graces the cover of "JAPAN", a guidebook for overseas visitors. That may be why in recent years, the number of tourists from aboard has risen dramatically.
The 3rd Arakurayama Sengen Park Sakura Matsuri
From April 7 to 22, 2018, the 3rd Sakura Matsuri (Cherry Blossom Festival) is being held. On the 14th and 15th, there will be food and drink booths as well as events on stage. The peak of the Sakura viewing season is only about a week long, so those who wish to see the cherry blossoms this year should come as soon as possible!
