“THE SPINDLE,” Toyota Lexus Café in Tokyo
“Tokyo Midtown Hibiya” is a storefront complex that opened in March of 2018.
“LEXUS MEETS…” is a brand-experience facility on the 1st floor of that very building which features boutiques, cafés, vehicle exhibitions, and test drives.
This time, I stopped by that facility’s café, THE SPINDLE, for lunch.
Since THE SPINDLE is located at the entrance to Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, it has a pretty strong presence.
The café’s staff will clean up after you, but since the café is semi self-service and you carry your items yourself, your first priority should be securing a seat.
Lexus is one of the Toyota Motor Company’s luxury brands.
There are 2 cars on display inside the store, and just looking at them is a neat experience.
If you book a reservation in advance, you can even test drive them.
You can choose between combinations of sandwiches and deli dishes.
Sandwich and Drink Set – 650 yen~ (tax excl)
I decided to splurge an extra 200 yen and went with the vegetable sandwich.
This was a pretty generously sized sandwich; if you’re a light eater, you could easily split this between two people!
Since ordering coffee a la carte costs 500 yen, the set feels like it’s a really good value.
You can choose from coffee, tea, orange juice, apple juice, and grapefruit juice as the drink options.
I’d also recommend getting your meal to-go and heading over to the nearby Hibiya Park to eat.
Sweets Time Starting at 2:00pm
You can order off of the sweets menu from 2:00pm until closing.
The menu is packed with treats like parfaits and cakes, and they all look amazing.
Strawberry and Vanilla Ice Cream Parfait - 1,296 yen
Layered beneath the strawberry and vanilla ice cream are whipped cream, strawberry sauce, and crispy cornflakes.
You can see the latest luxury cars from Lexus here without having to make a trip out to a dealership.
The café only uses domestically-sourced ingredients, and it’s also affordable.
