  The oft-visited Japanese restaurant “Ginza Toyoda” featured in Michelin Guide is located on Namiki-dori in Tokyo’s Ginza.This time I stopped here for lunch.

  I recently had lunch at Ginza Kashiwa, a restaurant that opened in April of 2018. Here, diners can enjoy Hinai-Jidori, a premium brand of chicken from Akita Prefecture. It's considered one of the three tastiest varieties of chicken in Japan!

  Enjoy Lunch at the Historic Forest Restaurant “Matsumotoro”

  The historic western-style restaurant first opened in 1903 alongside Hibiya Park. The park’s fountain is located just in front of the restaurant, and it’s also close to the Imperial Palace, so it’s a great place to visit while walking through the area.

  Ginza’s A Votre Sante Endo is where you’ll find unorthodox fruit curry and traditional omelet rice under one roof.

  I visited A Votre Sante Endo, a western food restaurant in Ginza, for lunch. Their menu boasted the usuals: pasta, pizza, traditional curry, and various other dishes. But, believe it or not, what this eatery is famous for is its fruit curry and omelet rice! (Yes, you read that correctly!)

  Trying Out the Unagi at “Tsukiji Miyagawa Honten” in Tokyo, a Long-Standing Restaurant

  In business for over 120 years, “Tsukiji Miyagawa Honten” is famous for its historic unagi (eel). This is the main location for the “Miyagawa” restaurants scattered across Japan. This is where I decided to enjoy a somewhat luxurious unagi lunch.

  A Chinese Lunch at “Zenshutoku,” a Ginza Restaurant Famous for its Peking Duck

  “Zenshutoku” is a Chinese restaurant that serves up authentic Peking duck. Their Peking duck is carefully prepared in the same process, made up of over 50 steps, as that at the famous restaurant “Quanjude.” Zenshutoku’s Ginza location closed over 3 years ago due to a fire, but it was finally able to reopen in November of 2018. I decided to stop by for lunch right away.

  NAMIKI667 is a restaurant located on the third floor of the Hyatt Centric Hotel. It gets its name from namiki, the line of trees along Ginza Namiki Dori in front of the hotel. Using the freshest seasonal ingredients, "creative cooking", overflowing with originality, can be eaten here. I visited this place for lunch.

  “Ginza Kagari Honten” is a ramen restaurant that opened at the end of 2018. The restaurant Michelin-recognized as Bib Gourmand, and it’s so popular that there is always a long line. It specializes in chicken-based ramen, and its beautiful arrangement and elegant interior make it feel like a high-class Japanese restaurant. I decided to stop by for lunch.

  At Sabatini di Firenze Tokyo, a venerable old Italian restaurant in Japan's capital, I recently enjoyed their "Winter Afternoon Lunch". It's only available during this season.

  A new commercial facility in Marunouchi, “Nijyubashi Square,” opened in November of 2018. “YAUMAY,” located on the building’s 2nd floor, is a unique dim sum restaurant led by state-of-the-art chef Alan Yau.

  A Taste of a Classic Kyoto Restaurant in Tokyo Midtown’s Hibiya, “Nanzenji Hyotei Hibiya Store”

  Hyotei is a long-standing historic restaurant on the grounds of Kyoto’s Nanzen-ji Temple. Established roughly 450 years ago, it started out as a teahouse. It is well-known for its soft-boiled eggs, known as “Hyotei Tamago,” and its breakfast porridge. Hyotei opened a new location in Tokyo Midtown’s Hibiya in March of 2018, so I made a reservation and stopped by for lunch.

  Pierre Marcolini is a luxury chocolatier from Belgium. They have now opened 7 shops in Japan, with locations ranging from Ginza to Haneda Airport and Tokyo Station.

  “Ginza Uchiyama” is a famous Japanese restaurant in east Ginza. As Uchiyama is a hugely popular restaurant that has held one Michelin star for multiple years, you absolutely need a reservation. This time, I visited for lunch.

  Tim Ho Wan, the World's Cheapest Michelin-Starred Restaurant, Has Opened Its First Japanese Branch in Tokyo!

  Hibiya is a hot place to be now! Tokyo Midtown Hibiya is booming every day. In April of 2018, a branch of Hong Kong's dim sum specialty shop, Tim Ho Wan, opened nearby. Day after day, long lines form outside.

  The Omelet Rice and Beef Stew at the Shiseido Parlor Ginza Restaurant in Tokyo

  Shiseido Parlor is a high-class Western-style restaurant that opened in 1902. It enjoys a well-established reputation for polished service as well as its beautiful, elegant and traditional Western meals. In addition to the Tokyo Ginza flagship, restaurants have been opened in Shinjuku, Nihonbashi, Yokohama and Nagoya.

  It seems a waste to come to an upscale area such as Ginza and settle for a regular chain coffee experience. Now, you can expect to do more than just shop at many of the luxury brand flagships in the area.
