Lunch at the Famous Japanese Restaurant “Ginza Toyoda” in Ginza

Last update :

"Ginza Toyoda" is a Japanese restaurant on the streets of Tokyo's Ginza district, often featured in Michelin guides. Use seasonal fresh ingredients and leave the menu to the chef. You can enjoy your meal in an elegant home built space. This time we had lunch here.

Menu

Customers can choose from 5,000 yen, 7,500 yen, and 10,000 yen courses.(Tax excl., 10% service fee)
This time I ordered the 5,000 yen course.

The course is omakase-style, or chef’s choice, but if there are ingredients you can’t eat please let them know.

Incidentally, at dinnertime you can choose from 10,000 yen, 15,000 yen, and 20,000 yen courses. There is also a special course (market price) that offers special dishes made with seasonal items.

Dishes

A dish of eggplant, zucchini, and shrimp.

I received a dish of eggplant, zucchini, and shrimp.
It was served with a Japanese-style gelatin for seasoning. It had a very refined taste.

Pike conger with matsutake mushrooms, steamed together in an earthenware pot.

Next was pike conger with matsutake mushrooms, steamed together in an earthenware pot.
The combination of the matsutake’s aroma, the tenderness of the pike conger, and the flavors of the broth created a soup that stimulates all the senses.

Squid and flounder sashimi.

Butterfish and grated daikon in broth.

For the simmered dish, I received butterfish and grated daikon in broth.
It was also served with bell pepper and paprika.
The Kyoto-style shiro-dashi broth was mellow-flavored and delicious, and it paired beautifully with the gently simmered butterfish.

Rice cooked with maitake mushrooms

Next was rice cooked with maitake mushrooms, a very aromatic dish.
If you’re full at this point, you can get an extra portion packed up to go for later.
I did my best and ate even the extra portion!

In addition to running an IT consulting firm, I spend my lunch hours scouring the nearby Ginza area for the best places to eat.
