  • Tsutsujigaoka Park (Sendai)

Tsutsujigaoka Park was selected as one of the 100 best urban parks in Japan in 1989, and is known as one of Sendai's representative urban parks. The park covers an area of 11.2 hectares, about 2.4 times the size of the Tokyo Dome. It is said that the park had a close relationship with the lords of the Sendai domain, and Date Masamune, the first lord of the domain, selected this area as a candidate site for the construction of Sendai Castle.

  • Tsuyama Castle (Kakuzan Park)

Its predecessor was Tsuruyama Castle built by Tadamasa Yamana in 1441, which was abandoned during the Onin and Bunmei Wars. Later, Tadamasa Mori, the younger brother of Ranmaru Mori, known as a close aide of Oda Nobunaga, changed the castle’s name from "Tsuruyama" to "Tsuyama" and began to construct it. The magnificent castle was completed in 1604 after 13 years of work and it is one of the three great Hirayama castles in Japan.
