Akashi Kaikyo Bridge Tower Top Experience (Akashi Kaikyo Bridge World Tour)

A thrilling tour to view a panorama from the top of Akashi Kaikyo Bridge Tower.

Last update :

Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is the world’s largest suspension bridge connecting Kobe City, Hyogo and Awaji Island. This 3,911m-long bridge is suspended with the 300m-tall main tower. There is a tour to go up to the top of Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge Tower to look over Kobe’s cityscape and Awaji Island.

To attend the tour, you can start at the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge’s anchor block on the Awaji Island side, which is right next to the roadside station Awaji. First, watch the instruction video about climbing up to the tower, then put on the protective straps and a helmet. When you are ready, start walking on the maintenance path that goes over 40m above sea level, heading for the tower top. Your guide is an engineer who worked on the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge’s construction. You will walk on the path which was actually used for maintenance, while listening to the pro explaining the technology and history of the bridge - one-of-a-kind experience.

After walking on the path for 1km, you will reach the top! Get on an elevator and pass the ceiling door to meet the spectacular view at 300m above sea level - Kobe’s cityscape, Awaji Island, Seto Inland Sea or even Abeno Harukas on a clear day.

Immerse yourself in a moving experience of getting into the usually-prohibited place and see the exquisite harmonious view of the suspension bridge and ocean.
