Bakery&Table Hakone
Taste freshly baked bread while looking out over Lake Ashinoko and soaking in a footbath.
This three-story bakery-restaurant stands on the shore of Lake Ashi. The first floor offers a wide variety of tasty breads made from carefully selected ingredients. The most popular bread is the "Rice Flour Curry Doughnut," which contains a whole egg and curry with a special recipe. It is very filling. "Hakone" bread, inspired by the traditional Hakone marquetry craft, is also popular and contains a lot of vegetables and bacon in the pastry.
You can eat the breads purchased from the bakery at the upstairs café, which serves a wide variety of coffee , teas, and local drinks such as Ashigara tea and early-picked green mandarin soda from Odawara.
The restaurant on the third floor offers a set menu dishes, like beef stew and curry, that go well with bread. Their menu also includes tasty snacks, hot sandwiches and hamburgers.
There is also a terrace outside the restaurant. At the special counter seats with footbaths, you can enjoy bread and drinks while soaking your feet in Ashinoko Onsen spring water. A parlor attached to the shop sells sweets and their specialty, the "Pan de Soft," made of toast with homemade honey syrup and thick ice cream made with fresh Tanna Milk from a nearby farm.
