Naritasan Park
Immerse yourself in seasonal beauty in the vast grounds.
On Naritasan temple grounds, there is an enormous park as big as 3.5 Tokyo Domes (165,000m2). In spring, 350 cherry trees blossom to delight visitors. The plum, wisteria, maple take turns to adorn the grounds throughout the year.
There is a fountain with benches in the western garden, Yuhi Waterfall that gushes into a rocky cove, and many more intriguing spots along the path. In the Museum of Calligraphy, a giant copy of the Kitaizan Meinohi memorial stands as tall as 13.3m and 5.3m wide. The original is China’s Emperor Xuanzong‘s own writing in the same grand scale.
The Plum Festival in spring and Fall Color Festival in autumn are held.
