Kujukuri Beach is Japan's largest sandy beach from Cape Gyobu in the eastern Chiba Prefecture to Cape Taito along the Pacific Ocean. The beach extends in the shape of an arc with no reef. The beach was designated as Kujukuri Prefectural Natural Park, and selected as one of Japan's top 100 white sand beaches with green pine trees and 100 Best Beaches of Japan.
Beach houses line up along the shore in summer, providing Kujukuri Beach gourmet - rich clams and oysters with juicy and thick flesh, called “Iwagaki”
It is the best geologically convenient surf spot from central Tokyo, and many people visit here to enjoy surfing, boardsailing, jet-skiing, wakeboarding, and other various marine sports throughout the year.
