Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park (Moricoro Park)

This vast park was established on the former site of the Nagakute site of the Expo 2005, a World Expo held in Aichi. The building, which was used as a guesthouse and reception hall during the exposition, has been converted into the Expo 2005 Memorial Hall, where more than 300 items donated by foreign pavilions are on display. Those who actually visited the Expo back then will feel nostalgic. On certain Sundays from 2:00pm, Morizo and Kiccoro, the mascot characters of the Expo, appear on stage, and you can take photos with them (currently on hiatus as of August 2021).

The house where Satsuki and Mei lived in the Studio Ghibli film "My Neighbor Totoro " has also been built (advance purchase required with a specified admission date). The kitchens and baths that appeared in the film's most memorable scenes have been faithfully recreated, making it a must-see for fans. In November 2022, "Ghibli Park " opened, where visitors can enjoy the world of Studio Ghibli's works.

The 88-meter-high Ferris wheel, one of the largest in the Tokai area, offers a panoramic view of Morikoro Park. Pets are welcome to ride along with you. The park also has a variety of sports facilities, including a cycling course and an ice skating rink. The park is very large, so make good use of the free park buses to get around.
