Maruyama Park is located north of Maruyama Virgin Forest, known for its beautiful cherry blossoms since ancient times. The park boasts about 120 cherry trees such as Sargent cherry and Somei-Yoshino, which attract many visitors in spring.
There are also cedar groves and giant katsura trees in the park, great for nature observation on squirrels, wild birds and plants. In mid-October, katsura, mountain maple, etc. will be at the peak fall colors.
When you go around tourist sites such as Maruyama Zoo or Hokkaido Shrine, stop by at Maruyama Park for a stroll.
