A fox paradise in the mountains of Shiroishi City. More than 100 foxes of seven species, including north foxes , cross foxes , and arctic foxe s, are kept here. Visitors can feed and photograph the free-range foxes outdoors, and even hold a fox cub in their arms (see the official website for details).

This is a very popular activity, as it allows visitors to enjoy the fluffy fur that everyone has longed for at one time or another. From fall through winter, the foxes change to their winter coats, making them even more adorable.

All the foxes in the park are artificially bred and are fully protected against echinococcus.
Long, flouncy skirts and other moving items should not be worn, as they stimulate their hunting instincts. For the same reason, heels with black tights are said to look like rats as well. Strict rules are in place for safety reasons, and visitors should always follow the instructions of the staff.

Highlights

  • The facility where you can see the adorable foxes up close and personal.
  • You can also have a chance to touch the fluffy foxes.
  • During the winter, the foxes change their fur to winter fur, making them even fluffier.
  • Please be aware of the rules and dress code when entering.
  • The bus from Shiroishi Zao Station makes only two round trips per day and does not run from Tuesday to Thursday.

In winter, the foxes look so fluffy that they almost look like raccoons at first glance. But if you look closely, they're definitely foxes. There are so many of them and they're super cute! Watching the foxes was great, but I think the staff's attitude could use some improvement. The person at the front desk kept repeating in a harsh tone, 'If anything happens, it's all your own responsibility,' which was kind of scary. Other staff members were also yelling at guests with megaphones all over the place. I get that safety is important, but I don't think most visitors feel good about being treated like that. I hope things get better in the future.

  • Getting here isn't very convenient, so I recommend using a Klook tour to solve the transportation issue. Also, it's best to visit in winter because the foxes' fur is super fluffy and cute! In summer, they shed their fur.

  • The smell from the foxes' waste is pretty strong. Don't be fooled by how cute they look—remember, they're still wild animals and can be aggressive, so avoid touching them.
