A summer event in the historical town Nara where more than 10,000 candles add a mystic ambience to the town.

The area around Nara Park is cradled with candle light in this summer event. Toka is the flower-like tip of a candle wick, which means good luck. In Nara Tokae, people light candles wishing visitors to find happiness.

The candles placed on the lawn look like the Milky Way on Ukigumo-Enchi. On Asajigahara, candles dot the area with bamboo sculptures. Candles light the edge of Sagiike Pond and Ukimido pagoda glows in gold nearby. Graceful candle reflections on Sarusawaike Pond and along the fifty two steps.The ame candle lights look different at various spots. Kofukuji Temple, Todaiji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine will touch your heart with the holy ambience.
