Aichi Museum of Flight
Located within Aichi Prefecture, this museum allows visitors to learn about the history of the aviation industry through actual aircraft displays.
Situated at the former international flight parking area on the southwest side of Nagoya Airport, this municipally operated museum offers a wide range of aircraft, including airplanes and helicopters, displayed throughout its spacious interior, with some allowing visitors to explore the interiors.
A particular highlight is the actual aircraft of the YS-11, Japan's first domestically produced passenger aircraft, which made its maiden flight from Nagoya Airport in 1962. Additionally, visitors will be fascinated by the "Selected 100 Aircraft," a corner displaying meticulously crafted 1/25 scale models of significant aircraft that contributed to the advancement of Japan's aviation technology.
The museum also offers interactive programs popular among children, such as career experience workshops for pilots and maintenance workers. A cafe, offering a view of the airport, serves curry and coffee, while a rooftop observation deck allows visitors to leisurely watch airplanes take off and land.
