Kureha, located in the Higashi Chaya district, a famous tourist spot, is a gallery and café run by an old kimono shop. The first floor features a gallery selling Kaga Yuzen dyed goods and local artisans' crafts, while the second floor houses a café overlooking the Higashi Chaya district.
Founded in 1776, the long-established kimono shop "Eritora" operates the venue. Besides showcasing and selling handicrafts, they also offer authentic Kaga Yuzen kimono rentals, starting at 5,500 yen per hour. Choose from about ten designs, get dressed up, and then leisurely stroll through the Higashi Chaya district. While reservations are required by the day before, same-day appointments may be available if there is an opening.
Additionally, the second-floor café serves traditional Japanese confections from the confectionery shop "Yoshihashi," established in 1947, with matcha for 800 yen or light meals such as hot sandwiches for 600 yen.
