Roughly 700m approach stretches from the great gate at the Uga Bridge, the national tangible cultural property, to another shrine gate at Seidamari. This is called Shinmon Street where many visitors pass to and from the Izumo Tisha Shrine. An elegant and unique scenery spreads from the front gate of Izumo Taisha towards the great gate of Uga Bridge.

The old and the new coexist on the Shinmon Street. 60 shops along the street is fun to look around. When you come here, try the local specialty, Izumo soba noodles.
