Rokko Garden Terrace
A spectacular spot on Mt. Rokko where you can see the city & night view of Kobe.
Rokko Garden Terrace, located 880 meters above sea level on Mt. Rokko, is an observation deck where visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the Osaka Plain and Akashi Strait, including the city of Kobe, as well as a "10 million dollar" night view.
View spots with different characteristics are scattered throughout the site, including the 11-meter-high "Lookout Tower" where visitors can enjoy a wide panoramic view, the "Lookout Terrace" where visitors can sit on a staircase-like terrace and relax while taking in the scenery, and the "Lookout Deck" where the Rokko mountains and Osaka Plain can be seen clearly. The "Nature Experience Observatory Rokko Shidare", located at the highest elevation in the facility, has an impressive appearance with its trunk made entirely of cypress with a frame called "branch and leaf" attached to it. Not only is it equipped with devices that allow visitors to experience the nature of Rokko, but it is also illuminated at night by LED lights that change color with the seasons.
In addition to taking a break at the cafes and restaurants with seating and terraces that boast a view, visitors can enjoy browsing through the shops that sell Rokko and Kobe souvenirs, select sundries, accessories, and other items. A stroll through the English Garden, decorated with seasonal flowers, trees, and herbs, is also popular.
