Fishing Pond Musashinoen

Located in Wadahori Park, a metropolitan park in the Suginami Ward, spread along the Zenpukuji River. The fishing pond is located in one part of the park, which is surrounded by rich greenery and dotted with various facilities such as a playground and BBQ area. There are five fishing ponds, including one where koi swim, and the appeal is the affordability: adults can enjoy for 800 yen per hour, including rod rental and bait. The fishing pond has been used as a location for films, and a giant model of Jaws sticking out of the pond is also a sight to see.

The biggest feature of this fishing pond is its adjacent dining facility. It was featured in the popular drama "Solitary Gourmet" aired in 2012, attracting not only regular customers but also many visitors who come specifically for the food, making it popular nationwide. In addition to the oyakodon (chicken and egg bowl) and yaki udon (fried udon noodles) ordered by the protagonist in the drama, the menu is diverse, including omurice, katsu curry, and ramen. There is a dining space equipped with air conditioning and heating, but there are also people who enjoy fishing while eating. They also have a wide selection of alcoholic drinks and snacks, and it is recommended to take out and enjoy them in the park (return of dishes is required).
