The Omogo Gorge, one of the largest canyons in Shikoku, spreads out at the southern foot of Mount Ishizuchi. It is located in the headwaters of the Niyodo River, which has been awarded the best water quality in Japan, and its crystal clear river is as beautiful as the Niyodo River. Walking courses have been established along the valley, so you can take a stroll while enjoying the emerald green stream and dynamic strange rocks.

The representative walking courses are the "mainstream route", which has many highlights, and the "gun route", where you walk along the Teppō River. The mainstream route is a one-way 45-minute course that includes smooth rocky surfaces of "Goshiki Riverbed" and a dense maple forest of "Autumn Leaves Riverbed". The Teppō route is a quiet river-walk course that takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes one way. If you want to easily enjoy the scenery along the valley, we also recommend the "Kanmon Course" which takes about 20 minutes one way.

One of the attractions unique to the nature-rich Menokawa Valley is that it shows various expressions depending on the season. In spring, you can enjoy the fresh green of mountain flowers, in summer you can experience activities such as camping and canyoning, and you can enjoy the four seasons with autumn leaves and winter snowscapes.
