Asajigahara-enchi Park and Ukimido Pavilion

Asajigahara-enchi Park, part of the extensive Nara Park, is known for its diverse landscape and cultural heritage. Located on the southern side of the park, near the first Torii gate of Kasuga Taisha Shrine, this hilly area offers stunning views, especially around the Sagiike Pond where the Ukimido Pavilion stands.

Constructed in 1916 to appear as if floating on Sagiike Pond, Ukimido is a cypress-roofed pavilion cherished as a tranquil spot by the water. The surrounding area, lush with greenery, features cherry blossoms in spring, crape myrtles in summer, and vibrant foliage in autumn, with the pavilion and trees beautifully reflected in the pond's surface. The pavilion is also illuminated at night throughout the year, offering a different, enchanting atmosphere from the daytime.

Boating is available from spring to autumn, allowing visitors to enjoy the pavilion and the park's rich nature from the water. This scenic spot within Nara Park is a natural beauty, particularly famous for the view of Ukimido Pavilion on Sagiike Pond, which is strikingly beautiful
