Kinokuniya Main Store

A long-loved traditional Japanese confectionery shop that has been cherished for many years.

Last update :

Founded in 1789, this long-established confectionery shop has been delivering traditional Japanese sweets to locals and Enoshima tourists for centuries. The shop's specialty is Meoto Manju, handmade and filled generously with homemade red bean paste. They offer two varieties: brown, made with original brown sugar syrup, and white, with a sake-flavored dough.

Another popular treat is Enoshima Monaka, shaped like turban shells, clams, and scallops. The turban shell-shaped monaka contains smooth red bean paste, the clam-shaped has chunky red bean paste, and the scallop-shaped is filled with sesame paste, allowing customers to choose their favorite. Other offerings include Ice Monaka with choices of vanilla, matcha, or red bean paste, and handmade dorayaki stamped with the Mitsuuroko crest of Enoshima Shrine.
The shop also features a wide selection of Enoshima Dango, available in eight flavors: grass red bean paste, mitarashi, matcha, kinako, sesame smooth red bean paste, smooth red bean paste, hanami dango, and isobe dango, making the selection process enjoyable.

Take a stroll around Enoshima and savor the traditional flavors crafted by this historic shop, which continues to make sweets using traditional methods without machines.
