Yokohama Marine Tower
Back and revamped for even more fun! The iconic Yokohama Marine Tower, a symbol of Yokohama Port.
Built in 1961 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Yokohama's port opening, the Yokohama Marine Tower stands as a beloved symbol of the city. Standing at 106 meters and inspired by a lighthouse, you can spot this landmark from a number of points across the Bay Area. With significant renovations completed in 2022, the spot now glimmers as a fully enhanced, prime destination.
From the observation floors on the 29th and 30th floors, visitors can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view out over Yamashita Park, the Red Brick Warehouse, and Minato Mirai, with clear-day views stretching to Mount Fuji and Tokyo Tower. At night, the bay area lights up beautifully while the Media Art Gallery offers a blended look at nightscapes with digital art after dark. The tower's nighttime facade, illuminated by 230 LEDs in various colors, makes it a picture-perfect must.
The first to fourth floors bustle with delectable dining options like the Hawaiian-born popular breakfast spot "Egg‘n Things," known for its pancakes and eggs benedict, along with Italian restaurants and dining bars. There are also shops featuring Hawaiian-themed goods and Yokohama-specific merchandise, a tourist information center, and a wedding venue. The plaza in front of the tower frequently hosts a variety of events like markets and live performances, making it a vibrant spot to meet.
