Sushi Zai
A renowned restaurant in Hiroo where you can enjoy exquisite sushi paired with fine wines and Japanese sake.
Located in the sophisticated yet serene area of Hiroo, Sushi Zai is an Edomae sushi restaurant that, despite its relatively recent opening in 2019, has quickly become a standout among the many renowned eateries in Hiroo.
Owner-chef Takahiro Okada, a seasoned craftsman who honed his skills at notable establishments such as Sushi Yuu in Roppongi and various kaiseki restaurants in Shinjuku and Asakusa, respects the traditions of Edomae sushi while continually embracing innovative elements. Chef Okada personally selects the freshest seasonal seafood from the Toyosu Market and insists on using only the finest domestic vegetables, rice, and seasonings. The menu, available for both lunch and dinner, features an omakase course with approximately 10 pieces of nigiri and a selection of tsumami (side dishes). The course can also include alcohol pairings, with a resident sommelier carefully choosing wines and Japanese sake to perfectly complement the sushi and side dishes.
The restaurant's interior, while luxurious, maintains a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, centered around an immaculate hinoki (Japanese cypress) counter. Families can enjoy the private room, which accommodates children of elementary school age and older.
