This sweets specialty shop uses Miyagi’s local favorite “zunda” and also has a cafe space.

“Zunda” is made by boiling and mashing young soybeans (edamame) into a paste. “Zunda mochi,” a traditional Miyagi way of enjoying it, is made by coating freshly pounded mochi with sweetened zunda bean paste, and has been loved for a long time. It’s also popular as a healthy sweet made with soybeans rich in plant-based protein and vitamins.

In addition to the “Sendai specialty zunda mochi,” made by wrapping the bean paste in mochi for easier eating, the shop offers a variety of original sweets. They sell items such as the “Zunda Shirayuki Cheesecake,” where you can enjoy its harmony with mellow cream cheese, and “Zunda Butterfuku,” highlighted by the perfect salty touch of butter.

A classic cafe menu item is the “Zunda Mochi Set,” served with salted kombu and tea. Also popular are their signature drink “Zunda Saryo Zunda Shake®,” a vanilla shake blended with zunda, and the shop-exclusive “Zunda Shake Excella,” topped with whipped cream and zunda sauce.

Located on the 3rd floor of JR Sendai Station, right in front of the Shinkansen Central Gate ticket gates, it’s easy to stop by while waiting for your train.
