Tanya Zenjiro Sendai Ekimae-Honten

It is about a 2-minute walk from JR Sendai Station. The main restaurant of "Tanya Zenjiro," a long-established restaurant which, after years of trial and error, has come to the conclusion that the most delicious beef tongue is grilled with salt, offers the traditional Sendai beef tongue grilled by hand.

Only 3 servings can be taken from one piece of beef tongue, using only the best parts for grilling and eating, the beef tongue is made entirely by hand by craftsmen, from cutting, salting, marinating, to maturing, without sparing time and effort. It is an exquisite dish that can only be tasted here. The menu is rich in variety, from the standard beef tongue set meal to a set meal with seafood, noodles and a la carte dishes.

In addition to beef tongue, a wide variety of Miyagi's local sake and an original dish called "Nama-Kamaboko-Yaki" (grilled fresh kamaboko), a specialty of Sendai grilled over a table-top shichirin, are popular. The Japanese-style restaurant, lined with lanterns, has both a counter and tatami room, so it can be used by one person or a large group, and it can also accommodate banquets in the evening.
