Kinryo

Kinryo, located in Yokohama Chinatown, one of Kanagawa’s most popular spots, is a long-established Chinese restaurant founded in 1924. Known for its delicious meat dishes, it’s a renowned spot frequently visited by food lovers.

The amber-glazed roast pork lined up in the display window and the hanging roast duck are enough to whet your appetite just by looking. Their signature roasted dishes are all cooked slowly over charcoal in an in-house oven, faithfully preserving a traditional method.

Charcoal-grilled meat is fragrant and crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. Roast pork marinated in a sweet homemade sauce becomes melt-in-your-mouth tender “char siu.” “Roast duck” is also popular, with flavor soaking deep into the bones and juicy skin. Ducks in winter are especially rich and satisfyingly filling.

These are also sold at the front counter, along with offal and shumai dumplings. It’s also a great idea to get it to-go and enjoy it as a snack with drinks back at your hotel.

At lunchtime, you can enjoy popular menu items like “char siu rice” and “roast duck rice” inside the restaurant. Takeout is also available.
