Ayabeyama Plum Grove

A spectacular plum grove with sea views, only in spring.

Last update :

One of western Japan’s leading plum blossom destinations, Ayabeyama Plum Grove sits on hills overlooking the Seto Inland Sea. The grounds are planted with many plum trees, mainly red and white varieties, and in early spring the blossoms bloom in abundance, covering the mountainside. As you follow the well-maintained walking paths, you can catch the gentle fragrance of plum blossoms, making a leisurely stroll through nature a special experience in itself.

What makes Ayabeyama Plum Grove especially appealing is the view of the Seto Inland Sea through the plum blossoms. From the high ground, the calm sea below, islands floating in the distance, and the sweeping blossoms at your feet come together to create a spring scene you can experience only here. During the best viewing season, yellow canola flowers also bloom, adding even more vibrancy to the contrast with the red and white plum blossoms.

Ancient burial mounds are also scattered throughout the grounds, letting you enjoy a touch of history between nature walks. Visit this scenic spot where you can take in both the arrival of spring and sweeping open views at the same time.
