Only when you stand directly beneath it do you realize that Tokyo Tower is far more impressive in person than in photos. This visit felt like more than just checking off a photo spot—it was like meeting one of Tokyo’s classic landmarks.

When visiting Tokyo, you have to find a good angle to see Tokyo Tower. Its red-and-white structure rises above the bustling city. Even as Tokyo gains more and more landmarks, Tokyo Tower still has an irreplaceable presence. Up close, it is even more impressive than I imagined, and the surrounding streets add a touch of Tokyo's distinctive urban character. Whether during the day or at night, you can enjoy it from different angles and capture a different beautiful view each time.

This time, I specifically went to Prince Shiba Park (Shiba Park) to photograph Tokyo Tower and unexpectedly discovered that it's also a great vantage point. Surrounded by greenery, the park and the towering Tokyo Tower make for a particularly pleasant scene. Compared with some popular photo spots, it's also relatively less crowded, so you can leisurely find good angles without constantly dodging passersby.

With sunlight filtering through the green trees and the red-and-white Tokyo Tower right in front of you, it's simple yet distinctly Tokyo.

Visiting Tokyo Tower at night has a charm all its own! Besides going up to the 150-meter-high observation deck to enjoy the dazzling night view and indoor light projection show, the biggest surprise was happening upon a limited-time collaboration between the anime Girls Band Cry and Tokyo Tower. Life-size character standees of Rupa and Nina Iseri were on display, attracting tons of fans to take photos.
Looking up from beneath the tower at its steel framework bathed in golden and warm orange lights was visually stunning. You could also get a commemorative Tokyo Tower badge and take souvenir photos. It's well worth visiting whether you're making an anime pilgrimage or simply enjoying the night view. I recommend coming at night—not only can you avoid the daytime crowds, but you can also experience romantic and varied nighttime-only activities!
